Fundraising and Events
The Pine Forest PTA provides several fundraising and community building events throughout the year. In August, we welcome families and faculty to reunite at the back-to-school picnic, a potluck gathering at a local park. In the fall, we sponsor Winterfaire, an enchanted day for kids of all ages to participate in hand-crafts such as silk painting, candle rolling and gingerbread decorating, as well as opportunities to visit with magical characters, experience dance and musical performances and much more. In the spring, we host the Spring Gala. The Gala is an opportunity for Pine Forest families, faculty and friends to enjoy an evening out with live music, refreshments and a lively auction of themed gift baskets as well as standalone items and services donated by local businesses, fellow parents and faculty.
In addition to these events, the PTA generates funds by offering several items for sale in the main office. These include sun hats, winter hats, gloves, beeswax crayons and hand-crafted felt items made by Pine Forest parents. Come into the office and see these wonderful products for yourself. They make great gifts.
Proceeds from these events and services are used to directly enrich the Pine Forest community and the educational experience of our children. For example, we make funds available to teachers for classroom needs, provide class trip scholarships for students, offer child care services at PTA functions, host speakers at parent enrichment evenings and more.
